Ancelotti Disappointed with Draw against Hoffenheim despite Numerous Chances

Bayern Munich’s winning run in the Bundesliga came to an end after a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti felt that Bayern Munich did everything to overcome the stubborn defence of the away team. For the sheer number of chances that they created in the game, he felt that Bayern should have won all three points. Bayern had almost 70% possession and had 11 shots on target compared to just four from the opposition. There were also numerous other opportunities for the home team to find the back of the net.

Yet, it was Hoffenheim who managed to take the lead throughDemirbay after just 15 minutes. It was a shock to the Allianz Arena, but normality seemed to have been restored with an own goal from Zuber after 34 minutes. Since there was still almost an hour of football left in the game, Bayern seemed confident and they created more chances in the rest of the match. However, the goal that the seeked so much never came and the club had to settle for a point. As a result, they remain only three points ahead of RB Leipzig, who have a game in hand.

Bayern have dropped points for the first time since the 2-2 draw against Frankfurt in the middle of October."We were having a few difficulties early on and struggled to deal with Hoffenheim's pressing. But we showed more intensity, quality and a better attitude after the break.I think a win for us would have been a deserved result if you look at the chances we got. But that's football, sometimes you are just lacking luck.Hoffenheim put in a very aggressive performance. We did not have a good start, we have to admit that,” said Ancelotti. The club’s next match is against archrivals Borussia Dortmund away from home.
