Bayern draws match

Bayern Munich has lost their 100% start to the season by dropping their first points in the game against Cologne.

The draw followed the defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and seemed to expose the weakness of the German champions.

Bayern Munich started the match well and created numerous occasions but was denied by the Cologne defence. Cologne themselves are on an unbeaten run and have yet to lose a game in 11 matches. They were quite confident on the pitch and did not let themselves over-run by Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich opened the score in the 40th minute thanks to a Joshua Kimmich header. There were signed that Bayern Munich could score more goals after opening the scoreline but the front men will be denied time and again by the Cologne keeper.

It will be Cologne who will come back stronger after the break. They will manage to equalize in the 60th minute with a goal by Modeste on a great volley. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper did not have any chance with this great shot.

Cologne could have added a second goal in the closing stage of the game, but the goal was disallowed because Osako was judged to be offside.

The draw is the second match in a row where Bayern Munich has failed to win maximum points. Indeed they were beaten in the Champions League clash in Spain against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

The Bayern Munich manager said that there is nothing to worry about and that it is natural to lose some points in a season. He stated that the players are still motivated and that they will come back stronger in the next games. He admitted that he is disappointed with the result, but he believes that this is just a temporary dip in form and that they will start winning again.
