Bayern Munich ace backs Leroy Sane to rediscover his form

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has backed compatriot Leroy Sane to rediscover his form for club and country during the ongoing campaign. The Germany international enjoyed a top season with Manchester City last season where he contributed 10 goals and 15 assists en route to their Premier League crown but he was still surprisingly excluded from the country’s squad for the summer World Cup.

Since then, Sane has not enjoyed a good return with the Citizens with just one start in the Community Shield but Muller has backed him to come good over the course of the season, he told Bild: “He’s an exceptional talent with abilities that only very few people possess. I think Leroy is mature enough, and I have great confidence in him for the future. [It’s the team’s responsibility] that we help him to reach his optimum level of performance with the national team.”

LAHM CLOSES THE LAST CHAPTER OF HIS CAREER

Phillip Lahm got the pleasure of leaving the international scene with a World Cup trophy.

He retired after Germany’s triumph in Brazil 3 years ago – ending the season with Bayern falling to Madrid in the quarter final of this season’s Champions League – on the back of 3 consecutive semi-final exits. This must have dampened the euphoria during his exit and perhaps denied him the reality of how he pictured the end of his club career.

PEP IS AHEAD OF HIS TIME

Xabi Alonso reckons that Pep Guardiola is ahead of his time. The Bayern Munich midfielder has seen enough of the manager in the last few years to make this bold statement.

Guardiola is already regarded as one of the greatest managers in the last few decades. He could quite possibly be the best manager of all-time of having inspired a number of teams across the world to try and replicate the style at Barcelona.

Alcantara not leaving Bayern Munich

Thiago Alcantara, the Bayern Munich midfielder, has played down news that he is all set to go after Pep Guardiola to EPL side Manchester City later this summer.

At the end of this season, Guardiola, who was earlier the coach of Barcelona, would end his 3 year deal with the German champions. In the English Premier League, he would take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the Ethiad stadium.

PEP - PREM DREAM COULD TAKE YEARS

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has quickly backtracked on his statements that he would like to manage in the Premier League from next summer.

Guardiola has announced that he will be leaving German football after three years. It is widely expected that his next destination will be a Premier League club.

BAYERN LET PEP GO

Bayern Munich will have to respect to the decision of manager Pep Guardiola, who has decided to leave the club, according to defender Juan Bernat. The 22-year-old was brought to the Bavarian club by Guardiola back in 2014.

BAYERN ON FOR TREBLE

Pep Guardiola and Bayern Munich continue their journey of securing the treble in this season after taking out Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal.

After an intense penalty session, Bayern Munich emerged as the victorious side as they have advanced into the semi-finals of the German Cup.
