LEHMANN: SANCHEZ WOULD FIT AT BAYERN

German football figure Jens Lehmann has hinted that embattled Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez should move to Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich this summer. The Chilean has been linked with a move to several top clubs as he feels Arsenal’s ambitions do not match his.

Lehmann asked that the Gunners star move to Bayern. The club is seeking a capable player that can play wide as current stars are not handling the role as much as expected. Lehmann admitted that Sanchez was not the regular wide player, even though he does it well.

“He would fit in at Bayern, although he is not the typical wide player they are seeking. He likes to cut inside, I have seen players that make better decisions on the pitch, but perhaps he can learn that,” the former Arsenal star advised. William Hill is known as the best bookmaker in the UK for football betting, and they have Sanchez at odds-on to move away from the Emirates by the start of the 2017/18 season.

Lehmann added that Sanchez has the traits of “a street footballer” that is noticeable when he is on the pitch. He said playing the forward in a system “is not so easy” as he likes freedom to do what he wants and get the rewards he seeks. However, Lehmann asked that Sanchez move to Germany, adding that it would be “nice to see him in the Bundesliga.”

Bayern chief Uli Hoeness has said that the club was not a retirement home for top players. The club is seeking to break limits in Europe after about a decade of local dominance. They want young and exceptional players that would take them to the promise land instead of aging stars.

Sanchez with 24 goals in all competitions is a decent candidate. He is versatile, with the ability to play in wide, centre forward and supporting striker roles. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has promised him to retain him even with his contract due in a year.
