BAYERN LET PEP GO
Bayern Munich will have to respect to the decision of manager Pep Guardiola, who has decided to leave the club, according to defender Juan Bernat. The 22-year-old was brought to the Bavarian club by Guardiola back in 2014.
Even though he is seen as one for the future, Bernat is extremely happy to have played under one of the greatest managers in world football. Guardiola may be under 50, but he has already won a lot of trophies including the Champions League twice in his career. The former was Barcelona manager tried to attempt something similar that happened at the Catalan club.
However, he could only experience moderate success at the Allianz Arena and this could have been due to various reasons. Australia's favourite site cites the primary reason as being the lack of the high quality technical players that he had in numerous numbers at Barcelona. Perhaps, Guardiola too realised this fact and it could have been the reason behind signing players like Bernat.
Even though he is a defender, the 22-year-old is known for his ability on the ball. His own future at Bayern Munich is under doubt since the club have gone for Italian Carlo Ancelotti. Bernat has made only four starts in the German league this season.
"In the end it is his decision [to leave] and we all have to respect it. Hes now spent two-and-a-half years here and his contract runs out at the end of this season, and it was a time to make decisions. Personally, I owe him a lot, after all he was the one who wanted me here at Bayern.
"Therefore I have nothing but gratitude and hope we have a successful end to the year with him," said the defender.
Guardiola has announced that he wants his next job to be in England.
