BAYERN LOSE SECOND LEAGUE GAME
Bayern Munich suffered their second league defeat of the season after they lost a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at the home offellow Champions League campaigners Borussia Moenchengladbach.
The game was one of the top two clashes as far as week 14 is concerned in the German Bundesliga this season, the other top clash on matchday 14 is the meeting between RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund. The four Bundesliga representatives in the Champions League this season are involved in the top two games of matchday 14 set of matches in the Bundesliga this weekend.
Defending champions Bayern Munich were on course to move five points clear of RB Leipzig in second place on the table when the Bavarian giants took a two-goal lead in the first half hour of their away game at Gladbach only for them to concede three goals and lose the game. In-form Robert Lewandowski gave Bayern Munich the lead on 20 minutes from the penalty spot to take his tally to 20 goals in 14 league outings and three goals in two league games in 2020 before German midfielder Leon Goretzka added a second goal for the away team six minutes later to put Bayern Munich in a commanding position but their hosts had other ideas. Jonas Hofmann scored two goals in the last ten minutes of the first half to pull Borussia Moenchengladbach level at the break thus paving the way for Florian Neuhaus to score what turned out to be the winning goal on 49 minutes. The result represented the first defeat for Bayern Munich since the big loss to TSG Hoffenheim in September.
RB Leipzig have a big opportunity to usurp Bayern Munich at the summit if they can beat Borussia Dortmund in the late kick-off on Saturday. A win over Dortmund will take RB Leipzig one point clear at the top of the German Bundesliga table.
