BAYERN SET FOR BRIGHT FUTURE
Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness has said that Bayern Munich are set for much bigger things in the future. Bayern Munich recently made it into the Champions League final against Inter Milan, but could not repeat the success in 2001.
As a result, Bayern Munich still wait for their first major trophy in Europe since the start of the decade. However, they have been absolutely unstoppable in the Bundesliga this season. The signing of Arjen Robben from Real Madrid and Mario Gomez from Stuttgart seems to have injected the necessary pace to the side.
Even though Bayern Munich did suffer a few slipups of late, President Uli Hoeness has said that he is very much confident that Bayern Munich can achieve bigger things in the coming months. Bayern Munich are still fighting in all competitions both domestically and in Europe. Even though they are not one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season – mainly because of Barcelona, many regard them to be the outright favourite for the Bundesliga title. A number of youngsters have come through from the academy, while the transfer department has also worked extremely well to bring in a number of high-profile youngsters from various clubs across the world.
“At the moment, the club is in the best possible shape, and the main responsibility lies with the coach. We don't lose anything because of internal friction. We're extremely satisfied and very happy indeed with Jupp. Jupp is on a really good wavelength with the team. He knows when to praise you, and when to push,” Hoeness said in a recent interview.
Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has been one of the sensational players for Bayern Munich this season and Hoeness expects more from the midfielder in the future.
