Flick Hopes Thiago Alcantara Will Stay At Bayern Amid Liverpool Links
Munich footballer Thiago Alcantara has interests from the newly crowned champions of Premier League Liverpool andBayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is hoping that the player will stay at the club. He has been linked with a move to Reds as Jurgen Klopp is looking forward to strengthening the team further as they would want to hold on to the Premier League title won after 30 years.
In the press conference held before the final against Bayern Leverkusen in the upcoming weekend, Flick spoke about how much important Alcantara is to the team and his role at the club which made it seem like he is unwilling to give away him to another club.
The Spanish footballer has missed most of the matches after football activity was resumed as he underwent surgery. He made a return in the match against Leverkusen on Sunday but returned to back to sidelines limping after 16 minutes of his presence on the pitch. Flick said that the player has recovered from the injury and is ready to play even though the surgery hadn’t been long before.
DFB Pokal final is the first major game he will be facing after taking up as Bayern’s coach. He led the Bayern Munich to the top of the table taking them away from their competitor Borussia Dortmund and led to another title victory. He is now currently preparing the team for Champions League as they have neared the quarter-finals.
The manager is pleased with his side's preparations, saying: "You always prepare for the task at hand. I was very satisfied with the training performance, the quality and intensity were very good. These are basic requirements and provide a certain level of security."
