Bayern Munich ace hails Mesut Ozil as one of the best players he has played with

Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry has highlighted Mesut Ozil as one of the best players he has played with. The former Germany international is going through a tough phase with Arsenal in the Premier League but Gnabry has still heaped praise on the kind of quality displayed by the attacker during their time together at the north London club.

Speaking exclusively to Goal, the former Arsenal graduate spoke positively about his compatriot, who has spent more than five years in the Premier League, he said: "I've already played with many good guys. But, if I have to highlight one, I take Mesut Ozil. The kind of quality I have seen in his training and in the games at that time was amazing."

Ozil has found himself out-of-favour under Unai Emery since the turn of the year and there have already been suggestions that he could be offloaded at the end of the season. The German started the campaign on a positive note with a couple of man of the match performances but his gametime has vastly reduced since January with just 102 minutes of gametime on the playing field.

“Elsewhere, Bayern are scheduled to face Liverpool on the road during the opening leg “of the Champions League round of 16 stage and the game should be an entertainer given the quality present especially in the attack front. At Anfield, the Reds are no doubt the favourites but they have to “deal with central defensive“ concerns which Bayern may seek to pounce upon.

Jurgen Klopp’s team are currently with just one fit central defender in Joel Matip with Virgil van Dijk, DejanLovren and Joe Gomez expected to miss the game. Van Dijk is serving a one-match European suspension while Lovren and Gomez are out with hamstring and leg injuries respectively.
