ROBBEN SIGNS CONTRACT
Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has ended the speculation surrounding his future by signing a new contract extension with the German giants. Arjen Robben's future has been under constant radar in the last few months due to the fact that it had only one year left.
It was rumoured in various quarters that Arjen Robben had agreed a deal with Italian club Juventus, while the Dutchman also failed to publicly commit to Bayern Munich. However, following the qualification to the Champions League final, it seems that the former Chelsea winger has been persuaded to sign a new contract with the club after the club announced that he had signed a new two-year extension to his current contract.
This means that the 28-year-old will be at the Allianz Arena for the next three years at least. Arjen Robben has been one of the most impressive players for Bayern Munich ever since he was signed for just € 24 million from Real Madrid a few seasons ago. Even with all the infighting with French winger Franck Ribery, Robben has been able to deliver great performances for Bayern Munich whenever he has played for the club. He once again scored the penalty for the club in the match against Real Madrid, which drew the tie 3-3 on aggregate.
"I have always stressed that I'm happy in Munich and at Bayern. That's why I liked the idea of extending my contract. Bayern is like a family for me, two of my three kids were born here. My family and me, we're feeling at home here. And from a football point of view, the extension is the right decision, too. We have a great team and I'm sure that we will have as much success as possible in the years to come," said Robben.
