BAYERN SMASH BATE
Bayern Munich has been defeated by FC BATE Borisov in a Champions League match played at Stadyen Dynama on Tuesday. Borisov won the match by a profound margin of 3-1. This was the second match for Borisov in the ongoing Champions League and the team has won all the two matches.
It was a clinical effort by the Borisov team which was playing on its home ground. Approximately, 25000 people were present in the Stadium to cheer for the Borisov team and their team stood up to their expectations.
Borisov got ahead in the 23rd minute of the match.
Alexander Pavlov was the player who opened the scoring for Borisov. The goal was set up Aleksandr Volodko. Bayern Munich could have scored the leveller just a few minutes later when Ribery’s cross was headed towards the net by Muller, but, the Borisov goalkeeper, Andrey Gorbunov, showed brilliant reflexes and made a brilliant save.
There was only one goal scored in the first half and at the half time break, the scorecard was displaying 1-0 in the favour of Borisov. The lead of Borisov was doubled in the 78th minute. It was a great effort by Vitali Rodionov. The Belarusian striker beat a couple of Bayern defenders to enter the box and then, blasted the ball past Manuel Neuer to make the score 2-0.
Just a few minutes were left and the Bayern team badly needed a couple of goals to comeback in the game. They tried to attack and they succeeded to score a goal in the first minute of the injury time when Franck Ribery capitalized on the pass of Xherdan Shaqiri and played a brilliant sweep shot to beat Gorbunov. The Bayern team needed to find the net once more to level the scores.
But, they failed in doing so. Infact, they conceded one more goal in those remaining 4 minutes. Renan Bressnan scored the third goal for Borisov and that was the end of the game.
Bayern Munich’s next match will be a Bundesliga encounter against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.
