Pep Guardiola confident on Team Ability
Pep Guardiola says that he is not concerned about the team’s inability to score freely in the last few weeks.
Bayern Munich may have won the last five times in all competitions, but three of them have been by a one goal margin. The last time Bayern were convincing in front of goal was back in the middle of March when a 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen helped improved confidence around the club. There has been a slight dip in the performance of some players once it became apparent that Pep Guardiola was going to Manchester City.
The former Barcelona manager has denied these allegations and he says that he wants to end the season on a high. The club are in the race for the league while they have one foot in the semifinals of the Champions League following a 1-0 win over Benfica in the first leg of the quarter-final meeting between the two. The return leg will be held shortly and Guardiola is very keen on winning the one trophy that has eluded him during his time at the Allianz Arena. The Catalan remains as one of the successful managers in this tournament, but he wants to match and emulate the achievements of managers like Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese has won it with multiple teams.
"I do not know [why]. It was most important against Benfica that we prevent what happened against Juventus. We did not want that. It would have been dangerous. Sometimes you control a little more, I wanted to.We cannot wait for Dortmund to give us the title, we cannot wait for the other teams. We have to win the title. This season we have to win our games to defend the title [rather than rely on others]. We cannot wait for a Dortmund defeat. I am sure Dortmund will win in Schalke," said Guardiola.
